Socio-Economic Empowerment

It focusses on enhancing economic independence, livelihoods, and resilience, particularly for women and underprivileged groups, through:

Strengthening Women’s Savings and Credit Cooperatives: Empowering women through robust, community-based financial systems that enhance access to credit, promote savings, and support economic independence.

Mobilizing Resources for Sustainable Livelihoods:
Facilitating access to financial, technical, and institutional support for creating resilient, community-driven livelihood opportunities, particularly for underprivileged groups.

Water Resource Management in Water-Scarce Communities:
Designing and implementing sustainable water conservation and distribution systems to ensure equitable and reliable access to safe water for drinking, agriculture, and domestic use.

Advancing Community Health Initiatives:
Promoting preventive and promotive healthcare through awareness campaigns, capacity building, and improved access to quality health services in underserved rural areas.

Supporting Farmers’ Producer Organizations (FPOs):
Strengthening FPOs to promote sustainable agriculture, enhance collective bargaining power, improve market access, and increase farm-based incomes.

Vocational Training and Life Skills for Youth:
Equipping rural youth with industry-relevant skills, career guidance, and life skills to enable gainful employment and entrepreneurship.

Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Resilience:
Implementing community-based disaster preparedness and mitigation strategies to build resilience against natural and climate-induced disasters.

Social Justice Initiatives

Mahiti Trust is committed to fostering an equitable society by addressing systemic inequalities and promoting human dignity. The organization works to eliminate exploitation and discrimination through the following key strategies:

Capacity Building of Voluntary Leaders:
Identifying and training grassroots leaders to catalyse social transformation, advocate for underprivileged voices, and actively combat caste-, gender-, and class-based injustices within their communities.

Family Counselling and Holistic Support Services:
Operating Family Counselling Centres that offer psychosocial support, legal aid, and mediation services to individuals and families affected by violence, abuse, or social exclusion—ensuring safety, dignity, and reintegration.
