To create awareness among communities with preparedness plans to cope up with disasters and to minimize the damages; Mahiti undertakes Community Based Disaster Preparedness and Management in disaster prone villages. In all the coastal villages disaster preparedness and management committees are being formed consisting of local men, women and teachers to assist people in adverse circumstances.
